Yep, We're definitely roughing it now! Claudia Bunce runs a Jade shop in the Yukon. She told us how stupid we were to get that close to the Grizzlies!
A picture opportunity in the Yukon outside the Jade shop.
The jade (and other stones) are mined locally, then carved in Alaska. Here is a small portion of the collection at he Cassiar Mountain Jade Store. Jade City, British Columbia.
Richard & Meg wait for a wild horse to cross the road
Another group shot just in case the last one wasn't clear. John is off riding somewhere, and we miss Kenny!
take your time big boy, we'll wait
stupid Va. Tourists, haven't you learned yet not to get close to the bears?
Richard & Meg ride away, tired of watching him! WE SAW A TOTAL of ELEVEN (11) BEARS ON THIS ONE DAY! Riding between Dease Lake & Smithers
How embarassing, those two motorcycle riders just watched me take a DUMP!
Just another moose... but we watched this guy get in the stream and float backwards with the current Then we watched him SHAKE like a DOG to dry himself off!
Honest, there IS a bear in this picture. Momma and 2 cubs ran when Meg & Richard passed. Harry stopped and watched the cubs run through the brush below with momma following. And here, momma stops and watches me to see if I'm gonna chase them on the Harley.
A pretty dog we met at lunchtime. Of course Harry spotted some BEARs that turned out to be dogs, and Richard never let him live it down!
Do you know how it feels to ride through the middle of POSTCARD quality views All day, day after day? That was our vacation adventure! Of course, the views weren't just on the rides! This was looking out of our sitting room window in Smithers. Twin Falls Glacier was right behind us!
Wait a minute, what are we doing on THIS lousy road? JOHN made us do it momma. We followed him on one of his evening rides and ended up in Snow & mud! At least we did get a closer view of the falls Snow, glacier, trees, mountains......same old, same old....... Look how deep the snow around the table still is! May 27th?
Lets go THIS way
You guys really need to see these places for yourself. Pictures will NEVER do them justice!
Lets go back and see if we can get the bikes out of the snow and mud, and down that steep dirt/rock road. John, we had to much wine at supper and you conned us into this! THANKS!
with our host & hostess in Smithers....Marg & Dave
Meg, the laptop display may be on for the last time.....better check your email!
A morning shot of our fantastic view
Yep, we're sure roughing it!
What's different with a B&B vs. a motel? Nicer accomodations. Neat people. Great breakfasts.....and they ask you to leave your shoes off in the house.
And just the next night, we get to stay in is place in Tete Jaune Cache
We REALLY had a hard time leaving this area when we heard it had some of the best fishing in the world!
Wonder if Dave & Marg would adopt me? With yet another beautiful view!

John & Bill pack up for the next adventure
No Harry, it's not a bear, it's their 6 month old Jack Russell Terrier named Bernie. He was WILD!
