SO WHAT DO YOU DO TO GET READY FOR A MOTORCYCLE TRIP FROM VIRGINIA TO ALASKA AND BACK?   Here are some of the things we've done so far:
Harry Colman
Kenny Critzer
John Popelish
Richard
Rodgers
Bill
Naedele
Meg
Rodgers
1. Need to hear more than the roar of the motor!   Added CB, Cassette, AM-FM, Marine Band Radio to Bike.
2. Have to pack everything you need for a month!   Added RoadKing leather saddlebags to the bag end of the poor old Dyna-Glide Convertible.  (Ever hear of a Dyna-Bagger?)
3. Gotta Stay warm!   Purchased electrically heated gloves, socks, pants, jacket and wire up the bike to have adjustable controllers for these items
4. Have to be visible in Alaska Blizzards!  Added extra LED lights on the back of each saddlebag
5. Will the alternator handle the clothes/radio/lights?  Better add a voltage indicating LED!
6. Gonna ride some bad roads?  Hope we can figure out this Stop-N-Go TIRE PLUGGER kit.
7.  Need to tie down the bike on the Ferry (Captain, watch-out for that iceberg!) Bought tie-downs that will double as tow ropes to pull that BMW and GOLDWING if they have a problem.  (Or let them tow me!)   Joined H.O.G. Roadside Assistance in case they can't pull me!
8.  Ever done a trip with Richard?  I know I'll need plenty of blood pressure medicine so I got a 3 month supply!
9.   What am I forgetting?   What am I forgetting?
1. A GOLDWING already HAS everything you need for a long trip guys!
2. But if HARRY is getting Electric Clothes, So am I!  (Socks, Gloves, Jacket, Pants, and remote controllers for them).
3. How about these plexiglass shields I made to protect my hands from the wind?
1. My ULTRA-CLASSIC has everything that Goldwing has plus a BAR & SHIELD emblem, I'm ready to roll!
2. But if Richard and Harry are gonna ride those OLD Harleys, I better get a belt repair kit, a voltage regulator, and anything else I can borrow from my buddy the Harley Dealer.
1. My BMW is probably the only motorcycle that is really going to last for 10,000 miles anyway, but I'll see what I can add to it.
2. Why are these guys BUYING all this stuff?  I've only taken about 3 weeks off work to build my own electrically heated gloves, electrically defrosted helmet visor, custom riding jeans, custom fitted Balaclava (had to make a head mold first).
3. Wonder what else I can invent to take the trip?
Warm clothes (thanks Dad),
lots of film, journal log, good ridin' tunes, and lots
of leather...okay, so I don't have any chaps...yet!

1. Wow it's gonna get cold.   Just bought my FIRST full-size helmet with a face shield!
2. These racing slicks won't make it to Alaska and back.....when are those new tires coming in?
